Spring

Spring Time at Pen-Y-Ffrith
Pair Ring Teal

Spring at Pen-Y-Ffrith is a very exciting time, everything comes alive after the cold winter months.  We look forward to warmer months when the birds are more active enjoying the sunshine on their backs.  The waterfowl males are in full colour displaying and calling to catch the females eye.

Bog Garden

The Bog Garden with some of the early flowers look lovely after being hidden for so many cold months.  Take a seat and be amazed at all that is around you.  The colours and scents of the differenct plants, wild birds flying from tree to tree looking for insects to eat and nesting spots, the ducks on the pond calling and displaying to each other.

Spring Blossom 971

The blossoms and leaves start to appear signalling the arrival of Wild Birds nesting at Pen-Y-Ffrith, Pied Fly Catchers, Spotted Fly Catchers, Goldcrest, Nuthatch, Cross Bills, Linnets and so many more, a Bird Watchers paradise.

Michael

Late spring brings a spectacular display of Bluebells, acres upon acres covering the woodland floor.  When walking through the woodland large displays of Rhododendrons, Azaleas, and Camelia greet you at every turn.  On your walk you may be accompanied by one of our friendly Rheas.
